The Cape Town Photographers Association, CTPPA, was formed as a direct result of the City of Cape Town’s new photographic and film permit policies. These new policies make it extremely difficult to shoot in Cape Town without a permit. While the permit process is free of charge (at this point in time), it is in our opinion unworkable.

When approached on the matter, the City said it would not deal with individual photographers but, only representative bodies. With this in mind the CTPPA was formed and has received overwhelming support from the local photographers who wished to express their concerns and dissatisfaction with the new policies.

In a very short space of time, our voices are now being heard through the CTPPA and it is apparent that  the city is taking the organisation seriously.
